Hollis is an artist, bookbinder and printmaker who teaches regionally and resides in Asheville, NC. She has been developing her art since grade school and has worked as a full time studio artist for the past 15 years. While honoring traditional skills and craftsmanship, Hollis seeks an element of contemporary expression by pushing the boundaries of her media. She’s innately curious and does the research to answer the ‘what if’ questions. With this combination of convention and exploration Hollis strives to achieve her fullest potential for expression.

In her former life Hollis held an Executive level consultative sales position.  She has her MBA and was known for the depth of her knowledge and ability to successfully consult at all levels. These skills, coupled with her enthusiasm and joy in student learning, create a dynamic class environment. She is caring and supportive while sharing her tremendous depth and breadth of knowledge. Students consistently remark on the incredible amount of learning accomplished, how classes exceed their every expectation and how much fun they had throughout.  “Inspired” and ‘excited” are the constants, which further inspires Hollis to continue growing and sharing.

Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally, as well as published in multiple periodicals.  She is represented by

The Grovewood Gallery, Asheville, NC

The River Gallery, Chattanooga, TN

GreenHill, Greensboro, NC

and a member of Southern Highland Craft Guild and The Guild of BookWorkers

Her art, and her life, are motivated by kindness and joy.
